SHERINGHAM MOVING FORWARD

GROUP TO KEEP SHERINGHAM SPECIAL

The Chamber of Trade have been instrumental in setting up this group comprising the Town Council,The Upcher Community Partnership and The Chamber chaired by Ian Doughty past Chairman of the North Norfolk Buiness Forum to keep Sheringham special and at the same time keep apace with modern business requirements.Initially surveys were conducted in the Town to obtain residents and visitors views on business/shopping in Sheringham and a meeting was then called at the Tyneside Club which attracted 40 businesses to discuss the reults which can be seen at The Upcher Shop in Station Road.

A further meeting will be arranged a the end of September inviting all businesses to see what action is proposed to implement their views and at this meeting we hope to have a representative from West Norfolk Borough Council who will be responsible for traffic management in Sheringham from 1st October to answer your questions.

We also propose to discuss a report from Action for Market Towns which is to be prepared by Sally Williams

The report has now been received from Retail Revival and paper copies of the report can be obtained from Upcher Community Partnership Shop in Station Road and is also available on the Experience Sheringham Web Site

The Moving Forward Group have now instigated a public survey competition askin them to nominate the three businesses in the Town who provide the best service and prizes will be presented at the end of March to the winners
